It's been a very difficult month for me. Watching someone I care deeply for lose himself to his addiction has been devastating. I feel like my heart has been broken into a million pieces. Seeing the sweetest, most tender and loving man I have ever known turn into this dark, twisty, and self destructive being has made me question everything.
But then I saw this video, and things began to make sense. So I watched it again, and it made even more sense. Then I shared it with some of my friends and it made sense to them too.
"Well worth the 15 minutes of my day.
Today I want to share it with you...
We are all addicts. Some of us are addicted to meditation, while others are addicted to drugs or alcohol. They are both symptoms of the same underlying cause...our society has become so disconnected that people are feeling increasingly isolated. Many people feel that they are "not able to bare to be present to their lives".
Addiction = Bonding
I loved the experiment with Rat Park. It is probably why I have spent my life creating my own little heaven on earth, and teaching others how to take responsibility for creating their own. Living in a beautiful environment, surrounded by people we love is the key. This video made me aware of how important it is for us all to remember how important our connection to each other really is!
This week's challenge is to expand your "Rat Park". Find a group of people you love and admire, who lift you up and love you for the amazing person you are, and spend time with them. If you don't know of any, create your own! Or join us tomorrow night for the Reiki Healing Circle.
I am contemplating putting together a monthly series of classes, for people who are committed to their personal growth and development, to come together to learn and share their love & knowledge. If you are interested, please let me know. I think it would be an awesome way for us to stay connected.
Please share this information with others. Thanks so much...
With love & light,
