We are upon "that time of year" again...the holidays! For many people it is a wonderful time of creating beautiful new memories with friends and loved ones. But for others it is an overwhelming time of loss and loneliness. I was just reminded of this earlier today when I saw a friend post on Facebook, "hate the f---ing holidays!" and it occurred to me how sad, yet common, that is! What I realized is that it's NOT the holidays that my friend hates...it's what she made up about the holidays that sucks. So how can she change that??? It is as simple as changing her perspective! The truth is...Life is Meaningless! The only meaning it has is the meaning we give it. The question is why would we give something a meaning that brings us grief and sadness? Because we are CHOOSING to suffer, that's why!!! But why would I choose to suffer you ask...good question! We are either consciously choosing to live a life of joy and are seeing the highest possibility in every moment, OR we are unconscious to our choices and are so busy reacting to the world around us that we can't see anything but pain and sorrow. Make no mistake about it, you are here to experience yourSelf as the creator of your own heaven on earth. You are either doing that, or not. But the real question is if not now, when??? So I challenge you...create a vision of what your "heavenly version" of the holidays looks like for YOU, and create it!!! No excuses, no victim stories, just pure belief in peace, love & joy! You deserve it. And if you need support, leave a message below and we will work together to make everyone's holidays perfect! What will your perfect holidays look like...? My friend and I laughed so hard we had tears running down our faces. There were also some very sweet and soulful moments in the movie that touched my heart.
Bette Davis once said, "Aging isn't for sissies." I agree whole-heartedly! But there is actually a secret about aging...it doesn't have to happen to you! That's right!!! YOU have control over your aging process, and there are some simple things you can do to start turning back the hands of time...
Living life fully is the best antidote to aging! I hope you have a great weekend, and if you check out the movie, let me know how you like it! :-) With love & light, Keli Ackroyd www.PowerWomenNetwork.com www.GodsOneLove.com www.AliveAndWellCenter.com www.KelisHealthBiz.com PS--If you find this content valuable, please like & share! Well if you're not sure, you'll want to read this! That moment when you want to say something in a Facebook status but you are too tired, lazy or unimaginative to create something worthy of your friends hitting the like button. Now, there's an app for that. "What would I say?", created by a group of Princeton grad students, generates status updates for users by running old statuses through a bot, reports The New Yorker. (Read the full article here.) There are a few things about this article that I'd like to address. Specifically that so many people are feeling tired, lazy and unimaginative! Ever wonder why that is??? I sure do! Especially since I see so many of my clients and students coming to me with the same symptoms. So let's see if we can get to the underlying cause. Let's start with "laziness", which is a sure sign that we are uninspired. When people have lost their light, their drive, their passion, then life becomes meaningless. And when life feels meaningless we succumb to a laissez-faire attitude towards our own life which leads to just getting by on the bare minimum. But we are NOT lazy by nature! These days many people complain about being "tired" which is a sign we are not taking good care of ourselves. We might not be getting enough sleep, eating enough energy producing foods, or getting enough exercise. Or it may be that we are NOT living our dream and this sham of a life we are living is sucking the life out of us! People who are "unimaginative" have lost their ability to believe. They have forgotten that they are the child of the supreme Creator, and that creativity is an innate part of their essence. They think that "if I see it, then I'll believe it", but the TRUTH is: Once you believe it, then you will see it! So here is today's challenge...
I bet you'll have lots to say and share when you complete this challenge! We don't need no app!!! It sure has got me thinking this morning about loyalty and commitment, and what they really mean to me.
I am almost 51 years old, and have never been married. Some people think that makes me a commitment-phobic, but I think it's just the opposite. I like to joke and say that I have simply skipped my first two divorces! :-) But the truth is I am still on the path of discovering who I am, and I evolve and change from moment to moment. How could I expect someone to commit to who I am right now, when we don't know what tomorrow brings...at least that is what I believed when I was younger. Now I know that I have kept my commitment to love, because to me love is freedom. Love is allowing someone the space to find for themselves the magnificence you see in them. That is probably why I have so much love and gratitude to the people who I have loved and dated, and why we are still friends. I was committed to still love them, and see the very best in them long after our romantic relationship had ended. As I think about how loyalty and commitment fits for me in business, I realize I have the same mode of operation. When a client comes to me for help, and together we create a vision of what they want for themselves...I stay committed to that vision no matter what! Actually I have had to "fire" clients because I was more committed to their success than they were. The only clients or students that I have had not (yet) achieve the goals they set for themselves, are the ones that let their FEELINGS become bigger than their COMMITMENT. You may know this one for yourself. In January you told yourself you would lose 20 pounds, or stop smoking, or start meditating, or "whatever"...and today, well? What happened? It's not because you are "bad" or that you have no loyalty to yourself or commitment to your goals. It's because you allowed yourself to become DISTRACTED by the little voice of defeat in your head; "You'll never do this", "You can try again on Monday", "You've never done it before, what makes you think you can do it now?" I like to call that voice the itty bitty *shitty committee (*pardon my French!), and we spend WAY too much time listening to "it" instead of focusing on our goals! What we need to do is replace that voice and those limiting beliefs with ones that EMPOWER us. Today I challenge you to commit to what you want, and declare it below so we can all share your vision with you! And if you need a life coach, make an appointment with me TODAY! Let me support you in creating the life of your dreams... With love & light, Keli PS--If you are interested in learning about natural health, please visit http://www.kelishealthbiz.com/blog.html Last night I watched this GREAT movie, and I just had to share it with you. I hope you will find the time this weekend to watch it with your loved ones. It filled my heart, witnessing the fulfillment of a soul's journey...and it awakened my soul to the beauty of our interconnectedness.
I often think that I am the crazy one because of my relationship with God, and how I have started every day of my life writing to Him in my journal. But I must admit that I have also witnessed miracles upon miracles throughout my life...so I can't help but wonder if that's a coincidence. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this movie as much as I did. Please feel free to share your thoughts after you watch it. And if you think it could be valuable to others, please like and share. Once again he asked parents to pull a massive prank on their kids and pretend they ate all of their Halloween candy. Here are the results of this year's Halloween Candy YouTube Challenge.
These kids are so funny...and some of their reactions are priceless! Hopefully they won't end up in therapy one day! :-) Cher stirred up Monday's Dancing With the Stars, opening the show by descending from the ceiling in a mini-dress as she belted out Believe. She also stirred things up on the judges panel, as she filled in for Len Goodman, taking a seat beside Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli. There were a few bumps. She at first said "Cher" instead of her score. And she got bleeped at one point as she critiqued Elizabeth Berkley. Cher was also asked at one point a question from a fan: If she could turn back time, to what time would she go? "I'd go back to the '80s." Why? "I just had so much fun in the '80s, I cannot tell you. Maybe too much!" The crowd loved her and everything she said. And what did she think of it all? "I loved it!" And that's what I love most about Cher...she's loved every moment of her life, and it shows! From her Grammy's, Emmy's, Oscar's and Golden Globe's awards (to name a few!) she is definitely an inspiring model of what it looks like to be living life to the fullest! The best lessons I have learned from Cher? Do what you LOVE, the rest takes care of itself. AND take good care of your body...it is the only tool you have to communicate who you are to the world! What's the greatest lesson you have learned from Cher??? Please share below... With love & light, Keli PS--If I can support you in taking care of your body, or help you move forward towards your dream, let me know! Tara Lynn is a beautiful person...wouldn't you agree? Why then do we feel the need to have to label her a "plus sized model". Wouldn't it actually be more honest to say a "regular sized woman"? Or how about this...A BEAUTIFUL PERSON! I have a very short fuse when it comes to labels, and apparently this morning it has been set off! I think the reason that labels are so disturbing to me is that all they do is create judgment, separation, and intolerances among people. I remember one time when we were younger, my best friend Thomas mentioned that he wanted to check out this new restaurant...especially since they were "flying the rainbow flag". I had NO IDEA what that meant, so he explained that it was a gay establishment. Which kind of bothered me. I mean, my entire life has been about blowing up limiting beliefs that separate people and create blocks to love, and seeing beyond the differences to the beautiful Spirit we share. This is the deal--I don't care if you are fat, skinny, gay, straight, black, yellow, brown, white, tall, short, old, young, smart, stupid, spiritual, or atheist...whoever you are, YOU MATTER! Let your voice be heard, your truth be told, and let us all learn from you. So PLEASE leave a comment below about the one thing that you think makes you "different", and what you've learned from that gift.
