Finding the Positive in the Negative

Have you noticed all of the negativity in the world recently? That is because on July 15th we entered into the three most negative weeks of the year...which is also the three weeks that we have the ability to shine the brightest!

If you think about electricity (energy), there must be a positive and a negative pole to create a spark. It is the same spiritually. In order to be fully present to spirit/God/energy, we must be connected to both a positive (heaven) and negative (earth) pole. That is why I teach my students to visualize themselves hammocked between heaven and earth in meditation.

It is important to remember that through August 5th, the negativity will be present, so that you may have the ability to choose to BE positive. Remember it is not happening to you, but for you, so that you can experience yourself as the creator of positivity on the planet.

For those who get swept up in the negativity and forget who they are, we can lift them in our prayers, visualizing them gently hammocked between heaven and earth, enveloped by peace, joy, love, enlightenment, and oneness with all that is.

The Emotional Connection to Health

Are you aware of the emotional connection to health...?

Too much worry can affect digestion.
Holding in your emotions can lead to constipation.
Anger causes stress on the liver.
Bitterness affects the heart.
Not speaking your truth can show up as a sore throat.
Immune system issues indicate you aren't feeling unconditionally loved.
And the list goes on...

That is why I find journaling so helpful! Every morning I acknowledge and release the emotions that are present into the pages of my journal so that I can find my way back to love. 

Love holds the same vibratory pattern as vibrant health. Wishing you a day filled with love...xoxo

Would You Like to Feel More Powerful?

This is another of my favorite TedTalks! Amy Cuddy makes some really eye opening points about how our non-verbal communication causes us to feel about ourselves. Did you know that powerful and powerless people have different hormonal levels? And that by using certain body language you can actually FEEL more powerful???

The Pursuit of Happiness

Happy Independence Day! I just finished reading the Declaration of Independence, and as always was touched by the beauty of this line: 

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

How many of you are spending your life and liberty on the pursuit of your own happiness? An even more interesting question is, how many of you actually feel like you have the freedom to pursue your dreams?

I had taken The Freedom Quiz in the book Get Paid for Who You Are a while back, which I found to be quite eye opening, and I'd like to share it with you. For each statement below, give yourself a 0 if the statement is totally untrue, 5 if it is completely true, and 1 through 4 for anything in between.

Location Freedom
  • I work in a corporate office two days a week or less.
  • Out of the entire world, I'm living in one of my top 3 preferred cities.
  • If I choose, I can easily be away from my home town for one month per year.
  • If I choose, I can easily be away from my home town six months a year.

Time Freedom
  • I can and do take at least four weeks of vacation a year.
  • I can and do take at least 10 weeks of vacation a year (or I love the work that I do).
  • I work no more than three days a week.
  • I enjoy my spare time and have a fulfilling life outside of work.

Financial Freedom
  • I have six months of living expenses in a savings account.
  • I have no debt.
  • I currently earn more than I spend (my savings are increasing).
  • I have enough money to buy everything I need.
  • I have enough money to buy at least 80% of what I want.

Inner Freedom
  • I'm willing to tell the truth, even when I'll lose something.
  • What I do helps others.
  • I get to express myself, what I care about, or who I am through my job.
  • I love how my life is, rather than wishing it was different.


What was your strongest area? The weakest? In what area would a change make the greatest difference in your life?


A little side note: When I originally took this quiz, my combined total for all four areas was only 20, but today it is 64 and rising. We always have the freedom to choose the pursuit of our happiness, and when we do we reach our desired outcome every time.

A Diet Solution? Why Yes, I Think It Is!

I recently read the Hunter/Farmer Diet Solution by Dr. Mark Liponis right before I left on a 7 day cruise. I did my best to follow the simple guidelines for my "type" and much to my surprise came back from vacation having gained only one and a half pounds.

Better yet, in the two weeks since returning from vacation I have shed 5 pounds without feeling deprived in any way!
I was so inspired by what I've learned that I did an online class about it. Enjoy...
